Elaine Lambrinos, Teammate

Elaine Lambrinos, aka. "Zorro" or "The Legendette" was born and raised in Upstate New York. A senior nursing student at the University of Vermont, Elaine will become a registered nurse this May. Some may find this a bit scary, as Elaine was recently spotted roaming the streets of Burlington late at night in spandex shorts, a Zoro mask, and knee high socks. Regardless of identity issues, Elaine will be an RN, and the RollingForAutism will have to take their chances, as Elaine will serve on the trips medical staff.

Commenting on her role as the trip's nurse, Elaine remarked "It is very important the guys stay hydrated while skating in the hot summer." Elaine describes her recipe of a daily intake of Gatorade, water, Jolt Cola, and wadkas as key ingredients to preventing dehydration in the skaters. Lambrinos has shown promise both as a nursing student at UVM and through her work at local hospitals, and we are confident Elaine will make sure our Skaters are up and running everyday.

Describing Elaine's role with a smirk, skater Dan Tatar described, "I cannot wait to shove a blister in front of her face every night when I take my skates off." The RollingForAutism Team looks forward to having Elaine's medical and social prowess traveling with us this summer. Lambrinos described "The Legend (Tatar) and I (legendette) go way back to middle school, and I trust he will lead this benefit to a success. I cannot wait to hit the road."

Jenna Ondash, Teammate

Unlike the majority of the RollingForAutism Team members, Jenna Ondash has a job waiting for her in June. Since Jenna will be working at the world's most prestigious accounting firm, PriceWaterHouse Coopers, it is only appropriate that Jenna handles the project's finances.

Jenna, captain of the Union College women's soccer team is known around campus for her competitive attitude, pastels, and her joy of karaoke singing. Jenna has thrilled karaoke goers both across the US and Europe with her jaw dropping performances of Journey, Kelly Clarkson, and LFO tunes. We look forward to having Jenna handle our finances and more importantly, as a member of our team. Be sure to check out all RollingForAutism events…you never know when one event may turn into an Ondash Song Show.

Emily Aspros, Teammate

Emily Aspros was born and raised in Westchester County along with the majority of Union College.  Growing up in Pound Ridge her whole life, Aspros considers herself "kind of a big deal." Commenting on Aspros' reputation, teammate Lauren Brickman replied "Well I guess RollingForAutism is excited to have someone who is "kind of a big deal" as a part of the team."

Aspros, an Art History Major, looks forward to unemployment upon graduation, as there are no jobs in her chosen field of study. In the meantime, Emily "is really happy to be working with everyone involved in RollingForAutism and can't wait to travel with everybody this summer." While we are all excited to have someone as bright, funny, and tan as Emily traveling with us this summer, we are very fortunate Emily will not be doing any of the rollerbladding because medical costs would skyrocket.

Shelby Cherin, Teammate

Shelby Cherin hails from the beautiful "garden state," New Jersey. Growing up in the town of Westfield, Shelby discovered her passion for food at a young age. When asked to comment on her love of food, Shelby replied, " I am a self proclaimed chub scout and manchego cheese is my weapon of choice... ice cream isn't too bad either." Shelby also enjoys long walks on the beach, cold showers, Reamer, and waterskiing.

A senior at Union College, Shelby is majoring in Economics and Spanish. Upon graduation, she plans on attending a two-year advertising school to get an advertising degree with an art direction. Shelby remarked, "I am really excited to be a part of this project and only wish that I had the sweet skills and coordination to rollerblade the 2000 miles myself!"

Christine Dunn, Teammate

Christine Dunn, a senior from Connecticut, is known around Union College as an animal in the swimming pool and an all star in the English classroom.  Dunn recognizes that her swimming abilities will not be very useful to the RollingForAutism Team, but her strong writing ability will prove to be a valuable asset.  Many of the letters, thank you notes, and invitations will be a product of Dunn's smooth pen.   Christine promises to remain dedicated to RollingForAutism and "towards helping Tatar to find his dream girl/middle age woman."

Commenting on the trip, Christine stated, "I am extremely excited about being a part of this amazing opportunity and will work hard to ensure its success."  The team looks forward to working with Christine, as she will prove to be a valuable member of the team.

Kara Huston, Teammate

Kara Huston is a native of Andover, Massachusetts.  A former standout soccer player, Kara has turned in her cleats for designer heels in recent years, as she is known around the Union College campus for her style.  When asked to comment on Kara's style, skater Sean Streich remarked, "I couldn’t even tell you if my own shirt matches my pants.  She is Versacci and I am a caveman."

Kara looks at her work designing our apparel and clothing lines as a great way to put her fashion eye towards a good cause.  Hopefully, Kara's work with RollingForAutism will serve as a springboard towards her ultimate goal of owning a boutique in New York City.

Jenn Sacks, Teammate

Jenn Sacks is a senior Classics major from Weston, Massachusetts.  An avid foodie, Jenn will be taking charge as the head coordinator of banquet dinner planning for our trip up the east coast.  Commenting on her job, Jenn described “I have spent years preparing for such a job.”  Jenn’s training includes but is not limited to; countless hours watching the food network, many afternoons spent at Reamer, a thesis on the food of ancient Rome, and a complete study of the life of cooking sensation Rachel Ray.

Beyond Jenn’s interests in food, she has been described by many as a sweetheart.  A future teacher, Jenn has spent her summers working with children at summer camps, where she surely has left an impact on many.  The RollingForAutism Team is excited to have someone who can identify different types of frosting just by smelling the cake and someone who is as dedicated towards helping kids as Jenn.

Alla Abramov, Teammate

Alla Abramov was recruited from Russia to join the RollingForAutism Team.  When asked to remark on her commitment, Abramov described “Who wouldn’t travel across the globe to work with a guy like Tatar?”  She then quickly added “you aren’t going to write that are you?  That’s not funny. Stop it. I hate you.”

As editor of the Concordiensis (second in New York, only to the Times), Alla’s wealth of journalism knowledge will prove valuable throughout the journey.  Even more valuable will be Alla’s enthusiasm for helping other people.  When asked to comment on Alla’s kindheartedness, Sean Streich remarked “Alla is a gem.  She is called the “sub-fairy” among the Schenectady homeless community because she cannot walk past a hungry person without treating them to a turkey sub.”

A die hard fan of Will Ferrell comedy, Jack Black movies, and walks on the beach, the RollingForAutism Team looks forward to working with Alla.  Commenting on RollingForAutism, Alla stated, “I could not resist helping out.  When I saw all of the effort and planning that has already gone into this project, I became immediately inspired to join the team.”  We are lucky to have someone as fun and enthusiastic as Alla onboard.

Alana Santaro, Teammate

When it comes to raising money for a charitable cause, Alana Santaro is the “pick of the Union College litter.”  A thirteen year veteran of over committing herself to charitable causes, school projects and clubs, Santaro looks forward to putting her efforts towards RollingForAutism.  When asked to comment on Santaro’s commitment to RollingForAutism, skater Jason Ortolano remarked “Tatar just landed our MVP.”

Alana’s additional interests (and often lifelines) include dark chocolate, pasta, garlic bread, and a good dirty martini.  Alana sees RollingForAutism as “an opportunity to avoid the reality of another four years of higher education and a chance to give something back.”  This opportunity of freedom will be short lived however, as Alana will be entering optometry school this fall.  In the meantime, we are very lucky to have someone as bright, motivated, and experienced as Alana on our team.
