University Involvement
ADK Charities is proud to work with college students and young adults from across the country to plan events to increase Autism Awareness. From singing contests to campus wide scavenger hunts to the sponsorship of guest speakers, it is our goal to get as many people as possible involved in our project and to educate them about the challenges of autism.
Please see below to learn more about the experiences of some of our volunteers.
Elaine Lambrinos,
University of Vermont, Nursing

"The RollingForAutism campaign has been a great success around the
University of Vermont, Fletcher Allen Hospital, and Burlington area. Students, professors, and hospital employees have come together with huge interest to help increase Autism Awareness and raise funds through this fundraiser. Particularly in the healthcare field, there is a tremendous amount of importance for this cause, as we work towards our goal of serving all patients to the highest standard possible. We continue to spread the word and work towards meeting our donation goal."
Christine Holdredge,
Brown University, Marine Biology
"In targeting young adults, the Rolling for Autism project plays an essential role in the greater movement to engage and educate people about autism. I learned a tremendous amount about autism as well as the ways that I can contribute to this important cause from the Rolling for Autism team. I've been inspired by its mission and believe that this organization will continue to open the eyes of other college students across the country."
Jessie Starr,
NYU Graduate School, Masters in Social Work
"On my way to becoming a real, live Social Worker, RollingForAutism immediately grabbed my attention. Working with freshmen at NYU, it was easy to talk up RollingForAutism. The members of the Freshman Advisory Board's hearts went out to this non-profit, and an event was planned. NYU Idol, a spoof of American Idol, was a great success! It has been a wonderful experience working with RollingForAutism toward achieving their goals. I have faith that this summer will be one to remember."
Glen Sanders,
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, PhD Biomedical Engineering
"I have lived in the Capital District of New York State for the past 7 years and having attended 2 of the local universities. When I heard about RollingForAutism, I felt it was the perfect opportunity to pull together some of my fellow students and young professionals in the area to help raise the awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders. The students that I have met and the friends that I have made over the past seven years are going to be the people responsible for how we live over the next 50+ years, as well as their following generations. Giving them a better understanding about Autism will hopefully impact the research being done and the money being put forth in the upcoming years. It has been a great experience organizing an event for RollingForAutism as I have received the chance to make a small impact on the condition as well as the opportunity to meet many generous and selfless individuals."
